History

D'orsogna Quality - Italian Heriatage and Australian Tradition
The D'Orsogna Brothers started their smallgoods business in a small butcher shop in West Perth over half a century ago.

Since 1949 a great deal has changed. Markets have become very fierce and competitive but despite this, the company has kept its family ownership and tradition.

Such has been the growth of the company over the past 54 years that it is now considered one of the stronger players in the national arena-especially in its sliced continental meats, hams and salami products.

Today D'Orsogna employs over 300 people and makes a wide variety of gourmet continental products which are enjoyed by lovers of authentic Italian cuisine all over Australia.

The company also supplies some of the nation's most famous organisations, including Hungry Jacks, Coles, Woolworths, Burger King and Subway , along with thousands of supermarkets and delis around Australia.

Quality Standards Acknowledged by Food Industry Leaders

The claims about D'Orsogna's exceptional product quality aren't simply made by the company itself.

D'Orsogna has Quality Accreditations, MS QA, and an export license and conforms too many of the quality standards set down by the health authorities and its major customers. Infact, in a recent independent audit on behalf of Subway, D'Orsogna received the highest accreditation ever given to a supplier.

D'orsogna's Strength is Still its People

Today the D'Orsogna Brothers have left their children to manage the business according to modern management practices. A majority of the members of the Board of Directors are in fact second generation D'Orsogna family members.

Despite embracing contemporary corporate structures, it is quite remarkable that many employees have remained with the company over the years of transformation.

Incredibly, the average term of employment is 12 years.

D'orsogna and the Future

The D'Orsogna Company is looking forward to a very productive and successful future. It continues to invest in capital works and infrastructure to enable it to continue to produce high quality and deliciously tempting gourmet products for all Australians to enjoy.
