Ham and Cheese Christmas Trees

Ingredients

 2 Puff Pastry Sheets
 7 Cheese Slices
 8 Skewers
For the Garlic Butter:
 2 tbsp Butter
 2 tbsp Minced Garlic
 2 tbsp Parsley, Freshly Chopped

Method

Start by laying out a sheet of puff pastry that's semi-defrosted on a board.

Add a layer of double smoked ham slices, followed by a layer of sliced cheese to cover the whole puff pastry sheet.

Place another sheet of puff pastry on top and gently press down.

Using a pizza cutter, slice the layered pastry into 8 equal strips.

Begin folding the strips, starting at the bottom to create a thicker base and gradually thinning towards the top to form a tree shape.

Carefully thread a skewer up through the puff pastry, leaving about 1 cm at the top for the cheese star.

Arrange the assembled trees on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for approximately 25 minutes or until they are nicely golden brown.

After removing from the oven, melt the butter and mix in minced garlic and parsley. Brush the butter mixture over the warm puff pastry trees.

Cut star shapes from an additional piece of cheese using a star cutter. Place these cheese stars on top of each skewer before serving.
