Bacon Wrapped Green Beans
Ingredients
Method
Preheat the oven to 200°C.
Line a large baking sheet with sides using aluminum foil. Arrange the bacon slices on the sheet and bake in the preheated oven for approximately 10 minutes. Note that the bacon will not be fully cooked at this stage.
Trim the ends off the green beans.
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until they are just tender.
Drain the green beans and immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water to halt the cooking process.
Dry the green beans with a paper towel. In a small bowl, combine the garlic salt, butter, brown sugar, and pepper. Pour the mixture over the green beans and toss until they are evenly coated.
Take 8-10 green beans and arrange them at one end of a slice of bacon. Roll the bacon around the green beans, securing them tightly. Place each wrapped bundle seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil or sprayed with non-stick spray.
Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and golden brown.
Garnish with parsley, if desired, and serve immediately while hot.
