Maple bacon doughnut

Ingredients

 45 rashers streaky bacon, cooked
 1 cup flour
 ¼ cup + 2 tbsp white sugar
 1 tbsp baking powder
 ¼ tbsp ground nutmeg
 ¼ tbsp ground cinnamon
 ½ tbsp salt
 ¼ cup + 2 tbsp buttermilk
 1 egg, beaten
 ½ tbsp vanilla
 5 ½ tbsp butter, melted

Method

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.

Lightly grease a donut pan.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt.

In a small bowl, stir together the buttermilk, egg, vanilla, and butter.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry and stir with a wooden spoon until fully incorporated.

Fill the donut pan and bake for 10 mins or until lightly browned and cooked through.

Remove from the oven and cool in the pan for a few mins before transferring to a wire rack.

Glaze and top with crispy bacon.
