Bacon-Wrapped Chicken Drumsticks

Ingredients

8 D'Orsogna Shortcut Bacon slices
8 Chicken Drumsticks
1 tbsp Olive oil, plus more for basting
Salt & pepper to taste

Method

Begin by preheating your oven to 190 degrees Celsius.

Next, prepare the drumsticks by removing the skin and cutting off any connective tissue at the ends. If you prefer, you can also cut off the joints.

Place the cleaned drumsticks in a bowl and drizzle them with olive oil. Toss the drumsticks to ensure they are evenly coated. Season generously with salt and pepper to enhance the flavour.

Take a strip of D'Orsogna Shortcut Bacon and tightly wrap it around each drumstick, ensuring the end of the bacon is tucked underneath. Arrange the wrapped drumsticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, placing them with the bacon ends facing down to prevent unraveling during cooking.

Bake the drumsticks in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. After this initial cooking time, turn the drumsticks over and bake for an additional 20 minutes. To ensure even browning, baste the drumsticks with more olive oil and turn them every 3 minutes while they finish cooking.

Once cooked, serve the bacon-wrapped drumsticks alongside creamy mashed potatoes and your favorite vegetables for a delicious meal!
