Ham and Cheese Strata

Ingredients

 250 g Cheddar cheese, shredded
200 g Asparagus, trimmed and chopped
 10 Eggs
 8 White bread slices
 2 ½ cups Whole Milk
 ½ cup Green onion
 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp Unsalted butter, room temperature
 1 tsp Smoked paprika
 1 Salt

Method

1

Grease a large baking pan. Combine the eggs, milk, mustard, paprika, and salt in a large mixing bowl and whisk until well blended then set aside.

2

Twist the white bread slices into a spiral shape and place them in the baking dish. Layer the D'Orsogna Leg Ham, green onions, and shredded cheddar cheese on top of the bread slices. Repeat this process until the ingredients are evenly distributed and fully covering the dish.

3

Gently pour the egg mixture over the bread and ingredients in the baking dish, ensuring even coverage. Then, cover the dish and place it in the refrigerator to chill overnight for at least 2 to 3 hours.

4

Set the oven temperature to 180 degrees. Remove the strata from the fridge and let it sit at room temperature for 15 minutes. Place the uncovered strata in the oven and bake until it becomes puffy and develops a light golden-brown colour, which should take around 1 to 1 and a half hours. Allow the strata to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
