Salami Stuffed Pasta Shells

Ingredients

 200 g Jumbo pasta shells
 700 g Tomato passata jar
 500 g Fresh ricotta
2 ½ cups Pizza cheese, grated
½ cup Fresh basil leaves, shredded
 ½ Red onion, sliced

Method

1

Preheat oven to 200C/180C fan-forced.

2

Boil the pasta in a large saucepan filled with salted water, following the instructions on the package until it becomes tender. Afterwards, drain the pasta thoroughly.

3

While the pasta is cooking, put a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Add the D'Orsogna Hungarian Salami and onion, stirring occasionally, until the onion becomes soft and the salami turns golden. Take the pan off the heat.

4

Spread passata evenly on the base of a large baking dish. In a separate bowl, mix together the salami mixture, ricotta cheese, 2 cups of pizza cheese, and basil. Fill each pasta shell with 2 tablespoons of the mixture, being careful not to break them, and arrange them filling-side up in the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top of the shells.

5

Place the dish in the oven and bake for approximately 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and golden brown. Once done, remove from the oven and serve with a side salad of your choice.
